I have always had an affinity for photography. I shot some film in high school, but didn’t take it any farther and forgot about it for a while. I had a camera and took a few photos here and there, but never put in the time in to find out what it takes to make a good photo.
I took a deep dive into photography a couple years ago and since then it has become a very important part of my life. I have a thirst for knowledge and there is always something to learn and improve upon in photography no matter how much you think you know.
A big reason why I took to it and wanted to learn more and more is because it fits into my lifestyle so well. I enjoy time with nature. Photography gives me motivation to get out and spend more time outdoors year round.
My family has been very supportive of my ambition to make good photographs. Spending a week traveling and camping with my wife and daughter to make photos are my favorite times of the year.
Photography for me is about capturing that special moment in time and trying to make it into a compelling photo. I want to convey the feelings I had in person through the photograph. My goal when making a photo is that it will evoke some kind of emotion from the viewer. This is hard to achieve, but is what I ultimately desire.
